Ashanti King urges Kotoko caution

The life patron of Asante Kotoko is asking his club to be cautious in the matter of Masud Dramani's future.
The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, wants a proper settlement of all outstanding issues with the former Black Maidens boss, whose future with the Reds is shaky at best.
Last week, the club told the coach to go on a four-month accumulated leave, a move widely seen as the beginning of the end of their relationship.
Having started the current season with three losses, two wins and two draws, a section of fans had started agitating for change. But the Asantehene wants circumspection.
“Nana [The King] is not against the decision of the board of directors concerning coach Didi Dramani, but he wants the right thing done, so that Kotoko wouldn’t suffer great financial consequence as a result of that,” Kofi Badu, the chief of staff of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II told the Kotoko Circles on Monday.
Media reports on Monday had also said the royal will order the reinstatement of Dramani - whose contract expires in October - but that so far been rubbished by the club spokesperson on various platforms.
Dramani, 48, has led Kotoko to back-to-back league titles and an FA Cup crown but his failure to lead the team past the group stages in Africa has tainted his record for fans.
In the gaffer's absence at the weekend, stop gap coach Michael Osei lost and now the team travel away to play Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday.
