Usuthu star to learn injury fate

Tshepo Liphoko will find out today the extent of his injury that could keep the AmaZulu midfielder sidelined for the re-start of the Absa Premiership campaign.
The 19-year-old returned from Russia carrying a knock having helped the South African Under-20 side to victory in the Commonwealth Cup last month and the extent of his absence from the side is unknown.
“I am a bit disappointed with the injury and I will only be able to know tomorrow (Tuesday) how serious it is when I meet with the AmaZulu medical staff,” he told his club’s website.
“With all the experience that I have gathered from the camp, I am looking forward to implementing everything and bring positive change to the club.
“I know that the senior players and the coach have always been supportive and I am hoping that the relationships will continue.”
Liphoko played a prominent role for Usuthu in the first half of the season, featuring in 13 of their 17 league matches to date – including scoring a brace on a 4-2 loss at Platinum Stars.
He says the experience gained in Russia can only benefit AmaZulu too.
“It’s been a great journey for me. I have learnt the importance of teamwork and persistence. I think if you believe and support one another anything is possible. As for my club, I think this would be the key when the season resumes,” Liphoko said.
