Freiburg have signed Czech Republic midfielder Vladimir Darida from Viktoria Plzen in what is reportedly the Bundesliga club's record transfer.
Freiburg announced the deal on their website Thursday without giving contract or transfer fee details.
German media reports said Freiburg are paying almost €4 million for the 23-year-old Darida, who is to sign a five-year deal with the club.
Freiburg sports director Klemens Hartenbach is quoted on Kicker's website as saying "despite the fact it's the most expensive transfer in the club's history, it's within realistic bounds."
Darida's transfer breaks Freiburg's previous record of €2.2 million paid to Levski Sofia for Mali striker Garra Dembele in 2011.
Darida has played 15 times for the Czech Republic, scoring two goals
