Mwila revels in title win

Long serving Nkana midfielder Mwila Kabwe has said he is excited to have final won the league title after seven seasons at the club.
Mwila has been at Nkana since 2005 after joining them from South African club University of Pretoria FC.
The ex- Zambia Under-17 star has witnessed the joy of Nkana’s brief return in 2008 and heartbreak of demotion at the end of that season.
In addition, he has also endured with Nkana numerous stadium bans due to crowd trouble during his stint with the 12-time Zambian champion.
“I have been here for like seven years and it is a dream come true for me,” Mwila said.
“It was an interesting run and most of the people thought we would not win the league towards the end of the season after the setbacks we had.”
Nkana failed to win four of their last five games losing two and drawing as many games before clinching the title on the final day of the season with a 4-1 win over Red Arrows on November 17 in Kitwe.
“We knew what we were aiming for and wanted to achieve, this is really special in my life,” Mwila said.
Mwila said he was already dreaming about making his debut in the Africa next season when Nkana take part in the 2014 Caf Champions League.
“We are heading into a challenging phase. If we can go through to the group stage that will be a bonus,” Mwila said.
