The Egypt Football Association has shortlisted six candidates for the Pharaohs head coach job, supersport.com has been informed.
The EFA had announced earlier this month that the senior team's head coach will not be Egyptian.
The Egyptian football body axed its former coach, Shawky Gharib, after he failed to lead the Pharaohs to the Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in Equatorial Guinea in January.
The FA chairman, Gamal Allam, has revealed that the committee of the Egyptian experts made the shortlist of six before it will pick the best out of them.
Supersport.com has been informed that the committee has narrowed down the shortlist to six candidates, which include Senegal head coach Alain Giresse.
The same sources revealed that the EFA will wait till the end of the Afcon to start negotiations with whoever is named coach of the Pharaohs.
