Egyptian side El Ismaily will be without their captain Hosni Abd Rabo and their starlet Mahmoud Metwali for six months due to injury.
Abd Rabo and Metwali picked up injuries in their 1-0 against Al Nasr on Saturday in the Egyptian League.
"Our duo of Hosny Abd Rabo and Mahmoud Metwali will be sidelined for six months after X-rays revealed that both of them tore their Anterior Cruciate Ligament yesterday (on Saturday) against Al Nasr and both of them will undergo surgery on Monday," El Ismaily announced.
"That is the worst news for us in 2014, both of them are the key players in the team and we wish them quick recovery and hope they get well soon."
This is the third time Abd Rabo is suffering an injury as he was out on the sidelines in 2010 with El Ismaily and in 2013 with Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia.
