He has promised that only fully fit players will play on Friday, so Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says his captain will also be dropped if he is not ready for Zambia.
The gaffer stopped short of making a declarative statement about Asamoah Gyan for the hugely-anticipated match in Kumasi after the striker was unable to finish training on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Gyan trained alone and has started running and ball juggling.
"We cannot risk Gyan or take chances by fielding a weak team. He is our captain and a very good player for us but if he is not fit, we don’t take that risk in such a situation," said Appiah.
"We know Ghanaians will want to see him on Saturday, but seriously, we cannot take such chances.
