Zanaco FC have made changes to their coaching set up for the 2015 FAZ Super League season after moving head coach Aggrey Chiyangi to the technical advisory role.
Chiyangi has been replaced by long-serving second assistant coach Mumamba Numba.
He was in charge at Zanaco from the start of the 2014 season after the Lusaka-based club did not renew late Keagan Mumba’s contract.
Chiyangi oversaw another disappointing season for the six-time champions who failed for a second successive year.
Zanaco failed to finish in the top two in 2014 after ending the season in third place when they finished two points behind eventual champions Zesco United on 57 and 59 points respectively.
Zanaco finished fifth in 2013 to relinquish the FAZ Super League title they won in 2012 under the late Mumba.
Meanwhile, Zanaco have also fired Chiyangi’s first assistant coach John Lungu while Kalumba Mpunga and Robin Munsaka have been promoted from the teams feeder club Young Zanaco and will be Numba’s assistants.
In a related development, Zanaco has released ex-Orlando Pirates striker Davies Mwape while Aubrey Zulu have returned to Choma Eagles.
The club is also courting four Nigerian players have arrived to attend trials ahead of Zanaco commencing its 2015 pre-season on January 22 in Lusaka.
