Supersand Eagles star Bartholomew Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has said his side are going to win the eight-nation Power Horse Invitational tournament in Durban, South Africa.
The Nigerian playmaker is among the 12 players named by coach Audu Adamu Ejo for the Durban tourney.
Ibenegbu said his side will use the tournament to prepare adequately for the Africa and global Beach Soccer Championships.
“Of course, we’re not going to Durban for sightseeing, our target is not only to use the tournament to blend the team for World Cup but to win the trophy.
“We had good preparations in Badagry heading to the tournament so we’re ready for the challenges,” said the Warri Wolves attacking midfielder.
Nigeria will kick-off its tournament campaign against West African rivals Ghana on Friday.
The Supersand Eagles recorded three wins in the three tough friendly matches during the camping in Badagry against 36 Lions Beach Soccer, Lead United Beach Soccer and Badagry United sides.
The team are expected to depart the nation’s shores on Tuesday’s night aboard South African Airways flight.
