Smouha are tough ACL opponents

Enyimba head coach, Kadiri Ikhana has admitted that the Egyptian opponents, Smouha Sporting Club will pose a hard nut for his side.
The two-time African champions will host the Alexandria-based side in the next stage of Caf Champions League competition in the weekend of March 13-15 at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Ikhana said his side will work very hard to take full advantage of the first fixture at home to earn a decent result before the decisive leg in Alexandria, Egypt.
“The Egyptian side, Smouha SC are certain to be a hard nut for us to crack with the little I know of the side. The clash is going to be a tough there is no doubt or kidding about it.
“We’ve however resolved to remain focus, work very hard on our preparations and win convincingly at home to make the reverse fixture in Egypt a bit light.
“I think I know something about the North African side, we’ll fashion a pattern that will unsettle them when both sides clash later in the month.
“We’ve noted some lapses in the encounters against the Beninese side, Buffles du Borgou, already we’re working on the mistake to ensure it doesn’t hurt us anymore especially in the tie against Smouha SC.
“Enyimba have the potential to recreate the performances of 2003 and 2004 it just takes a bit of hard work, focus and determination,” said the former Nasarawa United coach to supersport.com.
The Nigerian campaigners edged the Beninese side, Buffles du Borgou 4-0 on aggregate while Smouha SC eliminated Libyan side, Ahly Tripoli to pave the way for the expected tough clash.
