Eaglets fear no cadet foes

Golden Eaglets head coach Emmanuel Amuneke has predicted tough matches at next year's CAN Under-17 championship in Niger from February 15 to March 1.
Amuneke said ahead of the official draw on Sunday in Cairo, Egypt, that the groups will be evenly balanced with the calibre of teams that qualified for the continental cadet championship.
"We can't begin to say these are the teams we want in our group in Niger as whatever we get will depend on luck.
"I've taken a closer look at the teams that are going to Niger and I think we've a strong pool of the eight best teams from the continent.
"Most of the teams are from West Africa which is a very strong zone at age grade competitions and it is interesting that there is no team from North Africa whereas we had Morocco and Tunisia as semifinalists in 2013," said Amuneke.
Amuneke said his primary goal in Niger is to qualify the side for the 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile.
"We know what to expect in Niger and our objective remains the same, we have to reach the semifinal to secure one of the four tickets for the World Cup in Chile.
"I'm waiting to see the teams that we're going to get from the draw on Sunday and that will give us an idea of what to do," said Amuneke.
The eight qualifiers are champions Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Guinea, Mali, South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria and hosts Niger. They will be drawn into two groups of four teams each.
Screening of new players is continuing at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja and the former African player of the year remains upbeat that the process will throw up new talent to fortify the squad for Niger 2015.
