Swallows in search of second win

Mpumalanga Black Aces are set to host Moroka Swallows as they hope to bag their first three points in 2015 on Saturday afternoon at Mbombela Stadium.

Kick-off is at 3:30pm.

AmaZayoni have seen changes in their technical team having parted ways with the coach, Clive Barker, after their 2-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night.

However, they’re placed at position 13 on the Absa premiership log with 23 points from 22 matches and their hosts are fresh from a 2-1 win over Free State Stars.

Fani Madida’s men are motivated going to this clash as they’ve registered their first win since the resumption of the second round.

The Dube Birds will target to walk away with the three points as they’re flirting with relegation, placed at position 15 with 22 points from as many matches.

To the former Swallows defender, Roger Da Costa, their situation is not different from that of the Birds and that means the match will be tough.

“This is a six pointer because when you look at them and us, there’s no big difference,” said Da Costa.

“We need the three points and they also do, so it’s going to be a tough battle because we can’t afford to lose again.

“They have quality players and as a former Bird, my focus is to bag the three points because my focus is with Aces now.

"Well, things aren’t easy for us, there are changes as you know what happened with our coach but we’re focusing on this one and things will get back to normal again.”

However, according to the Birds hard tackling defender Larry Cohen, they aim to go to Mbombela and take no prisoners.

“We want the three points obviously and the win over FS Stars has boosted our morale,” said Cohen.

“We know Aces are also struggling but we aim for the three points, we deserved the win over Stars and we can now look forward to more wins.

“The mood is high in camp and our aim is to use the fact that Aces are unstable to our advantage.

“We needed a bit of luck and I’m positive that we’ll bag the three points once again.”
