Sterling our own Alexis - Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has compared Raheem Sterling to Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez after the forward powered the Reds to the next round of the Capital One Cup.
Sterling scored a brace for the Reds to set up a League Cup semifinal against Chelsea with a 3-1 win at Bournemouth. Rodgers also took the opportunity to play down rumours linking Sterling to a move away from Anfield.
"His contract situation is nothing to do with him. His representatives are the ones working with the club. He is, as you can see, happy and enjoying his football. At Old Trafford he was unfortunate not to score and in that role he plays, you think of Alexis Sanchez when he plays for Arsenal,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.
Rodgers, who came under fire for deploying Sterling in a central striking role in the Manchester United loss, stuck by his guns and played him again in the same position against Bournemouth.
"He can play across the front line. His best position is on the left, dipping inside, making runs in behind, creating one-on-ones. I put him in the position because I believe he can play in it. He played there in the youth team at Liverpool and he has the quality to do it,” said the Liverpool boss.
