Gourcuff names his final squad

Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff has named his final squad for the 2015 Afcon.
Aside the main team of 23, the Frenchman also created a back-up list of 7 players to cater for emergencies that could occur before the start of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Spanish side Real Betis’ midfielder Foued Kadir and 22-year-old Ishak Belfodil who plays as a striker for Parma in Italy appear to be the surprise inclusion in the squad announced on Monday.
2014 World Cup heroes Yacine Brahimi, Islam Slimani, Madjid Bougherra, Sofiane Feghouli, Carl Medjani and Rais Mbolhi made the list of 23.
Zemmamouche Mohamed Lamine and Doukha Izzeddine are the only two players plying their trade at home in the main squad.
The list also includes Club Africaine of Tunisia’s Djabou Abdelmoumen while Bounedjah Baghdad of Etoile du Sahel makes the standby list.
Also on the back-up list are Cadamuro Liassine, Guedioura Adlane, Mostefa Sebaa Medhi, Mesloub Walid, Boudebouz Ryad, Kashi Ahmed.
Algeria, who won their only Afcon in 1990, will begin camping on January 2.
