Bloemfontein Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco says the team will keep their heads up despite recent losses to Ajax Cape Town and Free State Stars.
Ernst Middendorp’s side have lost back-to-back league matches to leave the mandate of a top three finish from new owner Max Tshabalala looking unlikely.
And Celtic now have a difficult home match against a BidVest Wits side also looking to bounce back from defeat in midweek at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs.
Konco says the teams performances, even in defeat, have been good, but that they need to start picking up points soon.
“Wits have recently given us all sorts of problems but the faith and positive attitude we are having as a team will see us through. Yes we have lost our last two games, but our overall performances in both games was good,” Konco said.
“We must start converting chances and also be cautious of Wits’ somehow robust approach. There is absolutely no doubt that we will win this one.”
Ominously, Wits have won their last five meetings with Celtic, including a penalty shoot-out victory in the MTN8 quarterfinals at the start of the season.
