Neil Warnock wants a repeat of Crystal Palace's display at Swansea City when they face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Palace came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday courtesy of a first-half penalty from Mile Jedinak after Wilfried Bony had opened the scoring.
Warnock's side were unable to follow that up with another positive result against Aston Villa, as they were beaten 1-0 at Selhurst Park on Tuesday.
A run of just one win in eight matches has left Palace 15th in the table, just one point better off than third-bottom Burnley, ahead of their trip to north London.
Spurs were beaten 3-0 at Chelsea on Wednesday after producing a fightback to beat Everton three days earlier and Warnock knows Palace will have to raise their game against Mauricio Pochettino's men.
"I thought they (Spurs) played ever so well against Everton in the last home match and 20 minutes the other night (at Chelsea),” he said:. “I don't think 3-0 was a true reflection.
"Every game is difficult in this league and when you go to one of the top-half sides expectations are far greater with all the home teams, but we have to compete and try and give them a good game like we did at Swansea."
Palace would have been 12th if they had beaten Paul Lambert's side in midweek and Warnock is expecting a whole host of clubs to be embroiled in a relegation battle given the tight nature of the league.
He said: "I think everybody knows there are about nine, 10 clubs involved (in trying to stay out of trouble). We all know it's like three divisions again, I think at one stage a couple of years ago it was two divisions but now it's definitely back to three again.
"I think there's that group below the top two fighting out for Champions League positions and then there's the bottom 10."
The Lilywhites did the double over Palace last season and will be expected to record their second home win in the space of six days.
The south Londoners have a doubt over midfielder Joe Ledley (hip) and Damien Delaney (calf) may not be risked, while Warnock will be hoping striker Dwight Gayle is available after he came off at halftime against Villa due to illness.
Kevin Doyle has returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers as the striker continues to struggle with a back problem.
Spurs are set to assess Danny Rose (chest), Andros Townsend (ankle), Emmanuel Adebayor (back), Etienne Capoue (knock), while Kyle Walker (groin) is not expected to be ready to return.
