Chiefs to play Caf match in Durban

Kaizer Chiefs will on Monday announce that they will arrange games in Durban over the next months, adding another coastal destination to their list of alternate home venues.
The club have signed an agreement with the eThekwini Municipality who will pay for them to play their matches in the African Champions League at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The first game is against Volcan Club from the Comoros Islands, who Chiefs host in the first round, second leg tie on February 27 (kick-off 7.30pm).
Chiefs are expected to progress from the tie and will likely face ASEC Abidjan of the Ivory Coast in the second round. But a clash of dates means Durban is unavailable for that tie.
It is, however, available again for the third round in April where, if Chiefs are still in the competition, their opponents will likely be Al Hilal of Sudan.
Chiefs already have a lucrative deal with Cape Town to move three of their league games to the Mother City this season. They have already ‘hosted’ both Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars there and on February 20 will host SuperSport United at the Cape Town Stadium in the last of the three-match deal.
Chiefs start their African campaign on Sunday in Moroni when Volcan host the first leg of their opening round tie on an artificial pitch in the island capital.
Chiefs have chartered a plane to take their squad there on Friday and they will return directly after the match.
