Power Dynamos coach Tennant Chilumba is happy to see unsettled defender Christopher Munthali back for 2016 pre-season training.
The Zambia defender reported back for pre-season training on Thursday following his return from Chipolopolo duty at the 2016 African Nations Championships (Chan) in Rwanda where he played in three matches before the team made a quarterfinal exit.
Munthali is currently embroiled in a transfer dispute between Power and their Kitwe arch-rivals Nkana.
Power have stated that Munthali has one year left on his contract while Nkana insist they signed him as a free agent when his deal with the former allegedly expired on December 31, 2015.
“I can only advise the young boy to focus but we are happy to have him back,” Chilumba said.
“His friends have also been following what has been happening. I can’t say if it is the executive or the technical bench that will decide his future. It is for him to decide.
“As the technical bench we are like parents, we welcome players, we look at their attitude, where they are lacking, and then we talk to them. This is the fifth time that we have been talking to him.”
Munthali has been at Power since 2010 but failed to hold down a first team place in his first two seasons there before making an impact when he was loaned to Nkana in 2013 where he spent two years and also broke into the national team.
