NFF to inspect Afcon qualifying venue

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has stepped up preparations for the all-important 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt with a planned inspection of facilities at the match venue this week.
Nigeria will welcome Egypt to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, for the Group G clash in March which will have a bearing on who qualifies from the group for Gabon 2017.
NFF secretary general Dr Mohammed Sanusi will lead an inspection team to the stadium where they are to assess the facility’s readiness for the game.
He will be accompanied by engineer Shehu Ibrahim, the Director of Facilities at the National Sports Commission on the tour of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
“We will inspect the facilities alongside officials of the Kaduna State Government and the Kaduna State Sports Ministry and Football Association. There is the need to put everything in top shape ahead of this big match,” Sanusi told thenff.com.
“The NFF will interface with the Kaduna State Government on the areas that need to be improved upon.
“We will also jointly put in place a flawless medical and security plan for the match.”
The Super Eagles will take on the Pharaohs of Egypt on Wednesday, March 23, in Kaduna with the return leg taking place five days later in Egypt.
Egypt lead Group G with six points from two games. Nigeria are in second place with four points from two matches while Tanzania and Chad are in third and fourth place respectively.
