Enyimba’s ACL campaign intact

Enyimba striker, Onyekachi Samuel Peter has said assuredly that his side will qualify in place of the Egyptian giants, Smouha Sporting Club.
The People’s Elephant managed a slim 1-0 win against the North African side in the Caf Champions League second round first fixture clash on Sunday at the Enyimba International Stadium.
Raphael Boumsong lone strike made the whole difference for Enyimba in the grudge match.
Peter said the one goal advantage will be key when both sides clash in the reverse fixture in Alexandria, Egypt.
“I sincerely believe there is nothing to worry over the slim one goal win against the Egyptian side, Smouha SC.
“I strongly believe the one goal advantage will certainly make a lot of difference in the second leg clash.
“We missed several chances especially in the first half of the encounter that could’ve upped the goal margin.
“The victory is quite key no matter how slim it is as I’m confident we’ll shock our opponents right there at their backyard.
“Smouha SC were not exceptional on match day rather decided to pack men at the back with just one man upfront.
“Their tactics may have worked for them but they won’t celebrate for too long as the reverse fixture will surely turn sour for them.
“We’ve been on this rough path in the past, I still believe we’ll overcome the latest challenge.
“Egyptian soil is a familiar terrain for Enyimba we’ve the magic wand to navigate successfully,” said the former Abia Warriors hitman to supersport.com.
The two-time African champions are expected to be in Egypt in the weekend of April 3-5 for the decisive leg.
