Nigerian Brown Ideye eased the English Premier League relegation worries of West Bromwich Albion with the only goal of a 1-0 weekend win over Stoke City.
It ended a month-plus goal drought for the 26-year-old striker, who played in Switzerland, France and the Ukraine before joining the Baggies.
Ivory Coast 2015 Africa Cup of Nations-winning midfielder Max-Alain Gradel is on a scoring streak – his goal for Saint-Etienne in a 3-2 win over Metz was the fourth in four games.
ENGLAND
BROWN IDEYE (West Brom).
The Nigeria striker scored the winner as West Brom beat Stoke 1-0 at the Hawthorns to pull further away from the relegation zone. Ideye out-muscled Stoke defender Phil Bardsley to meet Craig Gardner's cross with a stooping header from eight yards out in the 19th minute. It was his seventh goal of the season and first in the league for over a month.
SADIO MANE (Southampton)
The Senegal winger helped his side secure an impressive 1-1 draw at leaders Chelsea. Mane was fouled by Nemanja Matic to win the 19th-minute penalty that Dusan Tadic converted to cancel out Diego Costa's opener at Stamford Bridge. Mane was one of Southampton's most dynamic attackers.
YAYA TOURE (Man City)
The Ivory Coast midfielder was taken off in the 81st minute of his side's shock 1-0 defeat at struggling Burnley. Toure produced a lacklustre display that was replicated by his equally lethargic teammates as George Boyd's 61st-minute winner stunned the champions.
YANNICK BOLASIE (Crystal Palace)
The Democratic Republic of Congo winger played a key role as Palace cruised to a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened QPR at Selhurst Park. Bolaise's potent combination of pace and poise outwitted the QPR defence twice as he crossed for Wilfried Zaha's early opener and then James McArthur's goal just before halftime.
AROUNA KONE (Everton)
The Ivory Coast striker made only his fourth Premier League start for Everton this season as his side eased their relegation fears with a 3-0 win over Newcastle. Kone has suffered a difficult campaign, with only one goal in his 10 previous appearances. But, although he didn't get on the score sheet, his presence sparked Roberto Martinez's side to a vital victory.
SPAIN
NORDIN AMRABAT (Malaga)
Moroccan forward Amrabat thumped home his fifth goal of the season to seal Malaga's 2-0 win over struggling Cordoba.
MANUCHO (Rayo Vallecano)
Angolan striker Manucho came off the bench to turn the game as Rayo beat Granada 3-1. The former Manchester United man teed up Alberto Bueno for Rayo's equaliser midway through the second half before Bueno and Adrian Embarba goals rounded of the win.
SOFIANE FEGHOULI (Valencia)
Algeria midfielder Feghouli also made an impact as a substitute as he set up Paco Alcacer for Valencia's second goal in a comfortable 2-0 win over Deportivo la Coruna that lifted Los Che to third.
FRANCE
LAMINE SANE (Bordeaux)
The Senegalese big man found the back of the net for the first time in almost two years in Bordeaux' 3-2 victory over Ligue 1 giants PSG. Captain Sane put the hosts in the lead just 18 minutes in, jumping over Thiago Silva to put a powerful header past Sirigu at the end of Whabi Khazri cross. The Tunisian midfielder added his name on the scoresheet later when he restored the advantage of Willy Sagnol's men.
MAX-ALAIN GRADEL (Saint-Etienne)
The Ivorian winger continues to be Saint-Etienne's most consistent attacking threat as he scored for the fourth league game in a row – his eighth goal of the season – to secure a 3-2 win over Metz that boosted his side's European hopes.
GERMANY
JOEL MATIP (Schalke)
The Cameroon defender bagged his second goal of the season in the dying minutes of a 2-2 draw at Hertha Berlin. The 23-year old headed a last-minute equaliser to salvage a dramatic point for the Gelsenkirchen side, who are fifth in the table. German-Senegalese teenage sensation Leroy Sane, who scored a midweek stunner against Real Madrid, once again found the net on his Bundesliga starting debut.
ANIS BEN HATIRA (Hertha Berlin)
The Berlin-born Tunisian put the Bundesliga strugglers ahead after just 21 minutes in their 2-2 draw against Schalke. Ben Hatira pounced on the rebound of a Valentin Stocker shot to prod home and score his fourth goal of the season.
