Keshi told not to politicise Eagles’ job

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro has asked Super Eagles out of contract coach, Stephen Keshi to stop politicising the side coaching job.
Keshi has been critical over the contract proposal offered to him by the football house describing same as a slave contract.
Babayaro said the former Mali and Togo gaffer can decided to take the offer in its entirety or reject it without further heating up the system with his comments.
“Keshi is actually trying to play on the emotion and psyche of the people with his several comments on the contract renewal proposal by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“I think he’s wittingly seeking the attention of some people in politics to weigh into the matter as they did the last time he was brought back to the saddle.
“That’s pure politicking and it’s absolutely the wrong way to go about the contract renewal talk.
“Keshi has achieved greatly both as a player and coach and that’s why many of us will continue to adore and respect him.
“However, I think Nigeria comes above every other thing including any person no matter how highly placed.
“Keshi has been offered a contract proposal, he is to study it carefully to make his input and if at the end of the day it suits him, fine if not he can walk away without creating a scene the way the issue is unfolding.
“I don’t understand the meaning of slave contract comment being attributed to him, it’s not a must for him to coach the side again.
“I know for sure the comments are targeted at attracting undue attention of people in high places to step in but I believe it’s quite unnecessary,” said the 1996 Atlanta Olympic goal winning hero to supersport.com.
The former Nigerian captain’s contract with the national side ended with the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil and both parties have been playing hide and seek game over contract renewal talk.
Keshi’s tutored Eagles failed to qualify for the just concluded 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
