Ahead of their 2015 CAF Africa Cup of Nations Group D final match against Mali, Guinea skipper Ibrahima Traoré is sure that his side will qualify for the next stage.
Traore also admits that it’s going to be a tough match.
Traore will lead his side on Wednesday night as they will fight to book a spot in the knockout stages of the tournament in a battle of what is deemed the group’s underdogs.
“I am certain that we will qualify, otherwise there will be no point to be here,” said Traore.
“Mali are a good team who always qualify for the Africa Cup; they get some good results and often reach the last four.
“We know that like us they don’t have a lot of pressure as everyone thought it would be a two-horse race between Cameroon and Ivory Coast.
“It is going to be a tough game and may be the toughest of the three as they know us very well.
“We are one step away from qualification. We forget all the rest to concentrate and have a great game to qualify.”
Led by the 55-year-old French coach in Michel Dussuyer, Guinea have two points thus far after playing to a 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast followed by another draw against Cameroon with the same scoreline.
The match is set to get underway at Estadio de Mongomo and the other match between the Elephants and the Indomitable Lions will be staged at Estadio de Malabo, both ties will kick-off simultaneously at 20:00 (SA time).
