Mutubile to decide Leopards future

DR Congo coach Santos Muntubile is set to make a decision over his future as coach of the home-based team following The Leopards' 2014 Chan quarterfinal exit.
The veteran coach has overseen three Chan tour of duties with the major highlight coming in the inaugural tournament in 2009, when he led DR Congo to victory in Ivory Coast.
“Regarding my future at the head of the national team, I will take a decision when I am back in Kinshasa,” Mutubile said.
His future as coach is in doubt after DR Congo stuttered to the 2014 Chan quarterfinals in South Africa in unconvincing fashion from the group stage to the last eight.
Ghana knocked them out with a 1-0 win secured by a penalty in a match in which they suffocated DR Congo.
“That defeat leaves us with a lot of regrets, but I am satisfied with my players who have played good football,” Mutubile said.
DR Congo's quarterfinal finish this year was the second time they were eliminated at the same stage where they lost 1-0 in 2011 to eventual champions Tunisia during the second edition of the tournament in Sudan.
