Cameroon sink DRC to qualify for Afcon

A 1-0 win for Cameroon in their Group D, African Cup of Nations qualifier against DR Congo at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo on Saturday guaranteed them a place in the tournament proper next year.
A 71st minute goal from Vincent Aboubakar was the difference between the sides and sees them uncatchable at the top of their qualifying group.
The win sees Cameroon on 13 points from five games, four points clear of second placed Cote d’Ivoire who beat Sierra Leone 5-1 on Friday night.
DR Congo are now third in Group D with six points, three behind Cote d’Ivoire and will hope Cameroon do them a favour by beating the Ivoirians this coming Wednesday.
If Cameroon beat Cote d’Ivoire and DR Congo beat Sierra Leone in their last game, they can qualify for next year’s African Cup of Nations.
