Kaizer Chiefs will be out to continue their dominance of the Absa Premiership when they welcome Platinum Stars to the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday evening.
Kick-off is at 7:30 pm.
The Amakhosi stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 14 games at the weekend, trumping Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates 2-0 at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Chiefs have looked an unstoppable force this season and head into the game against Dikwena with a 13 point gap atop the league standings.
Head coach Stuart Baxter, though, has warned his side not to think about the league trophy just yet adding that there is still a lot of hard work ahead.
“We have to keep playing and stop thinking about the trophy. The minute we do that, we are finished,” said Baxter.
“We are creating chances which means we have an offensive game, so I’m happy with the balance of the team, we’re working hard.
“We haven’t lost and we’re playing well. If a defeat comes it comes, we will just pick up again, there is still a long way to go."
Platinum Stars striker Patrick Malokase revealed that his side will draw confidence from their 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows heading into the game against the pacesetters.
“Chiefs have been a really good form, they play some great attacking football. I think the motivation on our side is the win we got over Swallows. We are not in a comfortable position, yes we have a games in hand, but games are not points,” said Malokase.
“We want to move up and we will do our level best to move up to a better position."
Stars are the only side to have beaten Chiefs this season with the Phokeng based outfit claiming a penalty shootout win over the Glamour Boys in the Telkom Knockout.
Chiefs though did manage a 5-0 aggregate win over Stars in the semifinals of the MTN8, on their way to claiming the trophy.
“Honestly league and cup games are two different ball games, but we are up for it and we really want to make something out of it. We need to be consistent on our side, we want to go all out,” Malokase concluded.
Allan Freese men head into the game in 13th place on the league standings.
In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Stars have met in 23 league matches since 2003/04.
The Amakhosi have 10 wins compared to four for Dikwena, while nine matches have been drawn.
Chiefs have won four of their 11 home matches against Stars, suffering two defeats in the process.
The teams have met once already in the league this season, with the Amakhosi claiming a 2-0 away win thanks to goals from Reneilwe Letsholonyane and George Lebese.
