Parma docked a point for unpaid wages

Parma hasvefallen further into last place in Serie A with a one-point penalty for failing to pay players' salaries.

The Italian Football Federation announced the penalty on Tuesday, and also banned Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi and CEO Pietro Leonardi from league activities for two months.

The club and the two administrators were also each fined 5 000 euros ($6 000).

With only two wins from 14 matches, Parma have just five points, three behind Cesena and six behind Cagliari.

On Sunday, Leonardi announced that Ghirardi was in talks to sell the club to a Russian-Cypriot conglomerate. The deal is worth a reported 7 million euros ($8.6 million).

The unpaid salaries date back to November and December of last year.
