Eibar thrash Almeria to move ninth

Eibar thrashed visitors Almeria 5-2 on Monday as the Spanish league debutantes continued their impressive first season in the topflight division.
Striker Federico Piovaccari got Eibar going with a goal in the third minute and Saul Berjon and Raul Albentosa scored before Almeria substitute Francisco Soriano pulled one back two minutes before halftime.
Raul Navas and substitute Ander Capa then struck twice more for the hosts before Edgar Mendez got Almeria's second goal.
The promoted Basque club rose into ninth place, just five points from sixth place and the last Europa League spot.
Eibar had played better away than at home. This was just their second win on home soil this season.
"In the previous games at Ipurua (Stadium) we lacked the intensity we showed today," said Eibar coach Gaizka Garitano.
"We took a small step forward today, but it's going to be a hard road and we will suffer. We shouldn't look at the standings very much, and starting tomorrow prepare for our next game against Sevilla."
Almeria in 17th place, and level on points with three teams at the bottom of the table, are winless in eight rounds.
"This was our most important loss of the season," said Almeria coach Francisco Rodriguez.
Getafe also earned a 1-1 draw at Levante, leaving both in the lower half of the standings but out of immediate danger of the drop.
Getafe forward Abdoul Yoda sprinted to reach Mehdi Lacen's pass and shot inside the far post in the 56th minute. But Levante substitute Rafael Martins headed in the equalizer for this first goal with the team in the 71st.
Real Madrid lead the league after 14 rounds. Barcelona trail by two points, with defending champion Atletico Madrid another two points adrift.
