New Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah says he struggled with the tempo of the team when he first joined.
The Crystal Palace man, whose loan at Cambridge United has ended, said he had found the style of the Ghana team hard to cope with when he first trained with them in December.
“In Ghana obviously it took me a bit more of time to adjust to the pace but in Spain I was able to find my feet and integrate well,” he said in answer to supersport.com at a presser on Sunday.
Appiah, 24, has played only in friendlies for the Black Stars but says he is enjoying himself with the team.
"To be honest I'm happier to be here [than in England]."
But he says integration has been fine since he joined, despite the difference in cultures. And about whether he is worried about not getting playing time, the new recruit is biding his time.
"That's up to the coach. He does the selection so we'll see."
The Black Stars face South Africa in their last Group C match on Tuesday.
