Mali captain Seydou Keita is unhappy with his side's inability to pick up wins when they had the advantage in their opening two Group D games at the 2015 Africa Nations Cup.
Mali on Saturday squandered a 1-0 first half lead only to finish 1-1 with Cote d'Ivoire who snatched a late 86th minute equaliser through Mx Gradel.
It was the second time that Mali had failed to kill off a giant after finishing in similar circumstances against Cameroon on January 20.
“We are very disappointed. When you look at our two games against Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire, it is only small details that cost us the win," Keita said.
"Once more, we gave up two deserved points.”
The scenario has left all four teams in Group D tied on two points from as many games played heading into their final games on Wednesday.
Mali face Guinea in a potential winner-takes-all clash on January 28.
