Algeria decides on Gourcuff future

The Algerian Football Federation (Faf) will on Tuesday announce a decision on the future of head coach Christian Gourcuff.
The press briefing will also assess the performance of the national team who were eliminated from the quarterfinals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations by Ivory Coast last Sunday.
French manager Gourcuff took over the Algerian job after the 2014 Fifa World Cup and was tasked to at least, reach the semifinals of the Afcon which got moved from Morocco to Equatorial Guinea.
A minority of the people are calling for Gourcuff’s head since failing to reach the target given him while there are wide recommendations that he be maintained but the final decision rests with Faf president Mohamed Raouraoua and his board.
"The tournament was held under special conditions. I'm in Algeria for a project, it is my view of things. I'm not the kind of coach who quits after a failure. We must also know how to manage a disappointment,” Gourcuff responded to a question about his future at the Algiers airport.
The Algerian delegation to the 30th Afcon tournament returned home on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s press briefing to be held at the Press Centre of the OCO Mohamed Boudiaf in Algiers.
