New Ajax Cape Town loanee Erwin Isaacs is determined to get his career back on track in the months ahead.
The former Santos forward returned to Cape Town to sign with Ajax for the remainder of the season after being frozen out at BidVest Wits where he made just a single start in the first half of the season.
He says it was a no-brainer when he heard of Ajax’s interest and is glad to be back in his home city and working with a coach he knows well in Roger de Sa.
“It was hard for me to get game-time at Wits, so to come to Ajax Cape Town was the best thing to do,” Issacs told the club’s website.
“Now is my time to show the coach what I can do. I was playing under coach Roger before so he knew me already. It’s time for me to work hard and help Ajax win things.”
Isaacs says the club has the players to finish in the top three, but a good re-start to the season against Polokwane City on February 11 is a must.
“We can definitely fight for third place, but only if we work hard as a team. Hopefully we can get three points in our first game against Polokwane and then we’ll take it from there.”
