Okpotu revels in man of the match award

Sunday’s Caf Confederation Cup assignment for Al-Ittihad’s Nigerian forward, Anthony Okpotu, turned out to be a fruitful adventure as he emerged man of the match after their 6-1 pounding of Chadian side, Elec Sport.
Okpotu, who operated from an unusual role in the midfield created three assists for the Libyan powerhouse to move into the second leg with a massive five-goal advantage.
“It was a great match for the team and we played well to deserve victory on match day. I’m equally satisfied with my performance which earned me the man-of-the-match award,” he said to supersport.com.
Despite their advantage, the Nigerian insists Ittihad must prepare well for the return leg.
“Anything can happen in football, so we have to prepare well. However, I believe we have the quality to score more goals in Ndjamena,” he told supersport.com.
Okpotu’s side under the tutelage of experienced French tactician, Pierre Lechantre, who the Afcon in 2000 with Cameroon, will remain in Tunis to prepare for the trip to Ndjamena for the return leg.
