Zamalek secure win under new coach

Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek further intensified their chase for a 12th title with a 2-0 win over El Dakhleya SC in Suez on Monday.
It was the first time that former FC Porto manager Jesualdo Ferreira took charge of Zamalek since becoming their coach despite watching his team play at the Suez stadium and not Cairo International Stadium due to security fear.
Hamada Tolba and Ahmed Eid scored for Zamalek in the second half to wrap up a nervy win for the White Knight.
Both teams fired blanks in the first half though it was the Whites who had the upper hand and should have taken the lead but failed to make their opportunities count.
The best chance of the first half fell to Ayman Hefny, who was impressive in the first 45 minutes, but his attempt was wide off target leaving El Dakhleya goalkeeper Ahmed Fawzy relieved.
Zamalek started the second half on an attacking note with Ahmed Ali, Khaled Kamar and Hazem Emam getting a sight of goal, but all three players failed to make their chances count.
On the hour mark, the deadlock was broken. Tolba surprisingly gave Zamalek the lead after ghosting past three Dakhleya defenders to calmly finish.
Minutes later, Dakhleya nearly drew level through Hossam Hassan from an assist by Emanuel Carbougi.
Zamalek wrapped up the match inside the last 20 minutes when Eid scored from the spot to give his team a two-goal lead that ensured they claimed the three points.
The win has seen Zamalek continue to set the pace in the Egyptian league standings as they now have 51 points.
