Polokwane looking for double over Wits

Polokwane City will be looking at making it double in the Absa premiership when they host Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Kick-off is at 8:15.
The Citizens gave the Students a 2-0 drubbing in the reverse fixture and will hope to resume their campaign with a win after a long Fifa international break. Their previous match was against Bloemfontein Celtic when they won 3-0 at home in March.
Kosta Papic’s men are placed at position seven with 32 points from 23 matches and their ultimate goal is to finish in the top eight.
However, looking at the visitors, they’re not doing well in the league after dropping from the second spot to position four following their losses to AmaZulu by 3-1 and Siwelele by 1-0.
Gavin Hunt’s men are now placed in position four with 40 points from 23 matches and visiting the Polokwane side brings nothing other than a chance to avenge the 2-0 defeat.
To the Citizens goalkeeper, Modiri Marumo, they’re aware of the visitors’ qualities and will not take them lightly.
“We know they’re a good side and we can’t just sit and hope things will happen, we have to work hard and prepare for the match,” said Marumo.
“We’re looking forward to the match and we have an advantage over them considering the fact that we’re at home.
“We can’t just believe we’ll be automatic winners on the day, football is cruel, anything is possible and we just need to work hard.
“We’re looking forward to the match and I believe we can get a positive result out of it – our mission is to finish in the top eight.
“That will definitely boost us ahead of the next season.”
To the former league winner with SuperSport United, Hunt, their aim is to finish as high as they can and the mission continues.
“We want to finish the best we can, we came third last year and that has to be a minimum for us this year,” said Hunt.
“It will be tough, we are fighting Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, and we are still in the Nedbank Cup so we must do as best as we can there.
“They beat us 2-0 at home, to be fair we should have won the game…we had so many opportunities, they had two chances.
“But they are a good footballing side and it is always very difficult against them.”
