Tsepo Masilela returned to training this week at champions Kaizer Chiefs but his participation in tonight’s Premier Soccer League encounter against Polokwane City at Soccer City is not sure.
Masilela has battled with a groin injury and had to miss the South Africa friendly against Spain last week plus Saturday’s defeat for Chiefs at the hands of Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout semifinal.
“We had expected that he would be out a bit longer,” revealed coach Stuart Baxter, “but he was jogging already at the weekend.”
The 28-year-old Masilela would have been disappointed to have missed out on both matches, the Spain game in particular because he spent a season playing at Getafe in La Liga.
He was hurt in training before the international weekend.
The left back has a long history of injury concerns but played moist of the matches this year.
His place on Saturday was taken by Keegan Richie, making only his second start of the season for Chiefs.
