Senegal book GOtv Wafu final dat

Senegal will meet Ghana in the final of the ongoing GOTv WAFU Cup Zone B after beating Liberia in the final Group B game played at the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday.
The Senegalese took the lead through Dominique Mendy in the second minute of the game after his initial parried shot bounced off him past the Liberian goalkeeper and was tucked in from close range.
The Teranga Lions went further ahead in the second when striker Talla N'Diaye scored a penalty in the 52nd minute.
The result gave Senegal top place in the group with 9 points from three games while Liberia finished bottom of the pool with a single point.
Roger Gomis and Richard Sagna, both of Senegal, were awarded with the GO Tv Man Of The Match and the Fair Play awards respectively.
In the other group game played at the Len Clay Stadium, Togo beat Niger 3-1 to finish second on 6 points while Niger also claimed only a point from the tournament.
Togo will play against Burkina Faso in the third place playoff on Thursday before the final between Ghana and Senegal at the Baba Yara Stadium.
