SC Villa will return to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) summit if they beat in-form Rwenshama at Nakivubo on Tuesday.
The 16-time record champions’ game is one of four lined up on the day. Villa are level on 36 points with leaders KCC but are second having scored four goals less than coach Abdallah Mubiru’s side.
Sam Ssimbwa’s Villa will, however, have to make do without Steven Bengo following a training ground bust-up with his coach last week.
Ssimbwa is said to have henceforth recommended a one-month suspension for the playmaker, who leads the club’s goalscoring charts with five goals.
“He will not play until the club sits this week to review his situation,” confirmed Villa CEO Ivan Kakembo.
Simbwa is now likely to call on Chrizestom Ntambi, scorer of the winner against Sadolin last week, as well veteran Hakim Magumba.
In Rwenshama, Villa face a resurgent side that have kicked of their second round with two straight wins, scoring three goals without reply.
Under new coach Charles Ayiekoh, they have moved two places off the foot of the table to 14th with as many points.
“If we can pick a third straight win, then focus will shift to our style of play, but at the moment we desperately need the points,” said Ayiekoh.
In the other games, Bright Stars welcome Kira to Matugga, while URA travel to Kavumba to face Soana and Lweza, fresh from shocking Epress 2-1, entertain Police.
