Derek Mensah fine after collapsing

Ghana under 20 midfielder is responding to treatment after collapsing during training for Club Africain in Tunisia.
Derek Mensah keeled over on Wednesday night while training in Tunis, two weeks after signing a three-year deal.
The 19-year old enforcer, who signed from the recently-relegated Ghana Premier League club Tema Youth, was getting ready for the start of the football season when he began developing pains in his chest.
His brother, Jude Mensah, spoke to supersport.com.
“While they were training yesterday afternoon getting to the evening, [Derek] felt some pains around the chest and he indicated it to the medical team of Club Africain, but before they could say jack he had fainted.”
Jude also reports that his brother was then sent to a Tunis medical facility specializing in cardio-related problems, where the diagnosis turned out not to be as bad as initially feared.
The former Tema Youth midfielder was part of Ghana’s under-20 national team that placed second at the African Youth Championships, but he was not chosen to be part of the team that subsequently placed third at the World Youth Championships in Turkey.
According to Jude, his younger brother had been fine and had reported no previous health problems.
“Tunisian clubs, as contrary to many countries' procedures, have two sections of medicals for players and Derek had passed both. He had even played in two friendly matches for the club for 70 minutes each,” the older Jude explained.
Derek Mensah signed for the Tunisian giants who are hoping to better their fourth-placed finish at the end of last season when the new season begins next week.
