West Ham sign Croatia's Petric

Premier League club West Ham have signed Croatian striker Mladen Petric until the end of the season after the international parted ways with London neighbours Fulham.
The 32-year-old has scored 13 goals in 45 matches for Croatia and also played in Switzerland and the Bundesliga where he enjoyed success at Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg.
Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has turned to Petric to boost his attack with only Modibo Maiga and Ricardo Vaz fit, and Andy Carroll yet to play this season as he recovers from a heel injury.
The Upton Park outfit have enjoyed a solid start to their season and lie eighth in the table with four points from three games while Liverpool are the early leaders with a maximum nine points from three games.
