Micho Sredojevic and Fufa insist the Serbian is still Uganda Cranes coach despite Sudanese club Al-Hilal announcing at the weekend they had signed him.
“OFFICIAL: Serbian coach Milutin Sredojevic "Micho" has been appointed new manager of the club. #WelcomeMicho," read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Every time club performs poorly, fans ask for me but it is natural since I am the most successful coach in the club’s history,” Micho explained when contacted.
“The rumour started two weeks ago and I told my bosses about it so there are nothing new,” added Micho, who guided Hilal to the 2010 Sudanese title and reached two continental semifinals with the club.
“I have never spoken to nobody, not negotiated and not signed anything. I am loyal to Uganda until Uganda stops to believe that I can help on the field of play."
A Fufa spokesman also told a local publication, the Daily Monitor, that there was nothing to respond to since there had been no communication from Hilal about the availability of the coach whose two year contract runs out in the next two months.
“There is nothing to respond to at the moment,” he said.
