Yemen replace Sudan for Eagles

Nigeria’s January 17 clash with the Falcons of Sudan has been called off and the Super Eagles will now tackle the Yemeni national team on the same day in Dubai.
The Super Eagles, who lost 1-0 to a Yaya Toure-led Ivory Coast side on Sunday were scheduled to round up their mini-tour of the Middle East with a game against Sudan, but the Falcons of Jediane failed to confirm the date and did not give reasons.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) approached Yemen in a bid to get the Eagles a game on the said date which Yemeni agreed to and subsequently the two sides will now meet on January 17 at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
The Yemeni Football Federation Secretary General , Dr Hamid Alshaibani, has sent a letter to the organizers of the tour acknowledging their intention to engage the Super Eagles and has also sent copies of the agreement to the NFF
Following a rest day, the Eagles team have already arrived in Dubai for the games against Yemen following a road trip from Abu Dhabi where they played Ivory Coast last Sunday.
Gbolahan Salami, who came in as a substitute in the game, is unavailable against Yemen after he was given permission to travel to Serbia to tie up a deal with Red Star Belgrade who have been tracking the Warri Wolves forward for some time now.
Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari is also a doubt after picking up an injury in the loss to Ivory Coast on Sunday.
The Super Eagles will not be part of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations starting this weekend in Equatorial Guinea after the team failed to qualify for the biennial event.
