Chiyangi happy with preseason tourney win

Nkana coach Aggrey Chiyangi has dispelled any suggestions that they played weak opponents in the preseason tournament they hosted in Lusaka over the weekend.
The Kitwe-based, 12-time champions hosted fellow Faz Super League side Napsa Stars, promoted Lusaka Tigers and Division 1 side City of Lusaka in a two-day event at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Nkana went on to win the tournament following victories over City in the final on Sunday after disposing of Tigers in the semifinals on Saturday.
“On paper, it looked easy because of the teams that were there and people saying Nkana won easily against easy opposition,” Chiyangi said.
“But what happened in Lusaka was something else because Lusaka Tigers and City put up a very good fight.
“I was very good preparations and it has helped us measure where were are in the buildup to the forthcoming league.”
Nkana beat Tigers 2-0 thanks to a brace by striker Walter Bwalya and they were crowned winners with a 1-0 victory over City Courtesy of a goal from defender Maybin Chishimba.
The Kitwe side is heading into the 2016 season hoping for better fortunes after finishing eighth in 2015 just two years after winning an unprecedented 12th Faz Super League title.
