Onigbinde tips Eagles to beat Bafana

Former Nigerian manager Adegboye Onigbinde has said assuredly that the Super Eagles will defeat South Africa in Wednesday's final day qualifying tie of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations at the Akwa Ibom Stadium, Uyo.
The 2013 Afcon champions are second on the group log on seven points, four points behind leaders and opponents, South Africa on 11 points who are already guaranteed a place in the biennial football showpiece in Equatorial Guinea.
Onigbinde said no matter how tough the Bafana Bafana of South Africa try to play the spoilers in the must win encounter the Eagles will overcome the expected stiff challenge to secure the second group’s qualification ticket.
“Victory is quite important in the Afcon match against South Africa which is more or less a must win game for us to earn a spot in the final in Equatorial Guinea.
“Football carries a lot of psychology within itself so the fact that South Africa are most likely coming here to play the spoilers shouldn’t worry anyone but how we’re able to psyche the players to go all out to get the much needed victory.
“I think the coaches have a lot of work to do on the players to put them on the right frame of mind heading into the crucial encounter.
“The pressure is certain to be on us to get the win while South Africa already through to the final of the Afcon championship will sit back to wait for any slip from us to leverage on.
“I believe early goals will be key to stabilise the game for us to apply the killer punch, we must avoid keeping the expected victory late in coming.
“I’m looking forward to a resounding victory from the Super Eagles, quite hopeful we’ll surely carry the day as well as book our passage to the final of the Afcon game,” said Onigbinde to supersport.com.
A win against South Africa will see Nigeria qualify to defend the title they won in South Africa next January in Equatorial Guinea irrespective of the outcome of the clash between the group’s bottom placed side, Sudan and Congo Brazzaville.
Nigeria and Congo are tied on seven points however the West Africans are on top in the second spot on superior goals as head to head rule will apply to separate both country on event of a tie in the final day match.
