Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer says it is a great joy that his team have made it through to the quarterfinals of Afcon 2015.
Guinea beat Mali thanks to the drawing of lots after the two teams could not be separated by any others means. Mali are very sad to miss out and have criticised the process of deciding which team would go through with group winners Ivory Coast.
As expected, Guinea are ecstatic: “The last few hours have been difficult because we are men of action. We like to be in action and we were not, we were just waiting.
"Thanks God, we had the chance on our side today. It is a great joy. We are happy even if our fate was decided in an office," he said.
“I have a thought for the Malian players and their technical staff. I know that they are going through hard times. They also had a good campaign.
"To exit AFCON unbeaten is difficult to swallow. I think of them and congratulate them for their performance in this group stage.”
