Injury worries for Ajax

Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa has admitted to some defensive concerns ahead of the re-start of the Absa Premiership after injuries to key players.
De Sa says they expected to have experienced Dominic Isaacs back in training by now after a long-standing problem that has seen him fail to make a single appearance this season.
Also sidelined is stalwart Nazeer Allie along with defensive midfielder Lance Davids.
Ajax have been involved in a number of friendly matches in recent days, including a pair of 2-0 wins over National First Division side Santos.
“We will probably play one or two more friendlies against local opposition before the league restarts,” De Sa said.
“We’ve had some issues because we expected Dominic Isaacs to be back by now, but he had a minor set-back, but we expect him to start training with the team again by the end of this week.
“Lance Davids and Nazeer Allie are also out injured now, but they aren’t too far from a return either.
“These friendlies are very important for us. Maybe not so much the result, but the game-time and experiments are what we are looking for. We had the chance to put some nice combinations together and we tried some new things which worked nicely.”
Ajax restart their league season at home to Polokwane City on February 11.
