It is back to work for Mamelodi Sundowns as they continue their camp in Mpumalanga this week.
The Brazilians arrived in KaNyamazane on Sunday as they prepare for a busy second half of the season that includes trying to close the 15-point gap on leaders Kaizer Chiefs, as well as a return to the African Champions League for the first time since 2008.
Coach Pitso Mosimane says he is pleased with the condition of his players after the festive season break and is looking forward to getting back in the swing of things.
“The boys all returned on time on the right date,” Mosimane said. “This was important as we were able to get down to business immediately with all the players – other than those on international duty – and this is good for the team.
“We have had four training sessions so far, and our camp in KaNyamazane in Mpumalanga will focus on body conditioning. The players look good, so we will have two friendlies to further home the condition of the players.
“The focus will be on thorough preparation of the body and mind. All the players are ready except for Flavio Bento and Ejike, who are on long-term injuries.”
Sundowns restart their league campaign with a home meeting against Moroka Swallows on February 10.
