Sokari frustrated with injury

Nigeria international midfielder, Kingsley Sokari is still saddened by the ankle injury he picked up in Sunday’s friendly against the Ivory Coast.
Sokari was caught in his ankle in the 32nd minute of the contest in Abu Dhabi by Serey Die who was promptly booked by the referee.
The Enyimba man tried to run off the knock but was eventually substituted with Steven Ukoh taking his place early in the second half.
“The pain was unbearable. I tried to finish the game but it was impossible so I asked to be substituted,” Sokari told supersport.com.
The Super Eagles, made up of domestically-based talent, more than held their own against the star-spangled Ivorians and only succumbed to a late Salomon Kalou goal in the 84th minute.
Sokari, who impressed in the 47 minutes he spent on the pitch described the game as “great experience for my career.”
“Getting a chance to play on the same pitch as Gervinho, Die, Cheick Tiote and African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure is a great experience for my career.
“The hardest person to play against was Tiote. He is so strong and fast.
“After the game, coach (Daniel) Amokachi told us we lost concentration for the goal we conceded.
“He also told us we did well and from the reports we are getting back home, Nigerians seem to be pleased with what we did against the Ivorians and we will try to do even better against Sudan in our next game,” he said.
The Super Eagles will face Sudan in another friendly game on January 17.
