Celtic to take action over Cape hoodoo

Bloemfontein Celtic’s loss to Ajax Cape Town in the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup last Friday continued a run of 15 years without success against the Urban Warriors in the Mother City.
The Cape Town hoodoo has become a real worry for Celtic management, so much so that they have decided to face their demons head on.
Club owner Max Tshabalala has revealed the team will stop camping in Gauteng as has been tradition and in future head down to the Cape to try and become more familiar with the conditions.
“We have realised that our players terribly struggle against Cape weather hence we have decided to start with our pre-season camping and playing friendly games there come the off-season break,” he told his club’s website.
“It lies entirely on our shoulders as leaders to guide and help the team and most significantly support the technical team with proper measures dealing with various situations affecting performances.
“Winning is not all about tactics but even off the field circumstances.”
Tshabalala remained upbeat despite the loss in the Nedbank Cup and says the side is on course to achieve their goals.
“Beside our exit and disappointment thereof we still positively believe in our major goal, that of finishing at least in position four,” he said.
“With the right mental attitude and resilience displayed by the players, that goal can be achieved.”
