Super Eagles goalkeeper Chidiebere Eze has said the side will not disappoint in the friendly ties against Uganda and South Africa.
The Eagles are due to confront the Cranes of Uganda on Wednesday at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo and later on Sunday engage Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Eze said he is determined to make his first call-up to the senior national side counts positively in both matches.
“I’m confident we’ll defeat Uganda in Uyo on Wednesday as well as South Africa in Nelspruit, South Africa with the quality of players the coaches have named for the clashes.
“Definitely, we won’t disappoint Nigerians in both warm-up matches as we’re keenly waiting for match day to unleash our full weight on the sides.
“The invitation to me was somehow surprising though every hard working player looks forward to such a sudden call-up.
“I’ll say I never expected the call-up the time it came but I’ve always worked very hard in my club duties.
“I’m holding firmly the golden opportunity and won’t allow it to slip off my hands without a history attached to it.
“I’m determined to fight for the shirt as well as make my first invitation count positively,” said the Ifeanyi Ubah United shot stopper to supersport.com.
Eagles stand-in coach, Daniel Amokachi has already named 28 players for the two important friendly games.
